PICTURE   GALLERY   -   INTRODUCTION

The idea of starting an "Image Library" (a computerised archive of Hickmore pictures and photographs) was originally put forward in May 1999 but nothing was done at the time due to the amount of work involved in collecting, sorting and processing the images. However, it was later suggested that it would be quite a good idea to include such a collection in the Hickmore Archive's on-line database and so work was started on this in March 2009.

Completion of the whole project is not expected until 2019 at the earliest. In the meantime it would be greatly appreciated if everyone possessing photographs of the various Hickmore families and individuals would kindly contact the Archive.

Please note that a "Mouse-over" facility is now being added to many of the available images. This means that additional information about each image can often be seen by holding the cursor steady over the image in question. Also, for images containing more than one person, this facility will enable each person to be seperately identified.
